Onidol is an interbranch organisation representing the interests of the french oilseed and oil fruit sector: oil seed rape, sunflower, soya, linseed, olive.

The purpose of Onidol is to gather together and represent the professional organisations from production to industrial processing: breeding activities (seed breeders, seed multipliers), crop production, storage activities and industrial transformation (crushing, refining, etc.).

Onidol aims at facilitating relations between professional families, to undertake activities of collective interest action and also to promote the development and the use of oilseeds and associate products. Premier Government Funding Agency
MPOB is the premier government agency entrusted to serve the country's oil palm industry. Its main role is to promote and develop national objectives, policies and priorities for the wellbeing of the Malaysian oil palm industry.

It was incorporated by an Act of Parliament (Act 582) and established on 1 May 2000, taking over, through a merger, the functions of the Palm Oil Research Institute of Malaysia (PORIM) and the Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authority (PORLA). Each of these respective organisations has been involved in the oil palm industry for more than 20 years and it is to render more effective services as well as to give greater national and international focus to the industry that MPOB was instituted.

MPOB derives its funding mainly from cess derived from the industry for every tonne of palm oil and palm kernel oil produced. In addition, MPOB receives budget allocations from the government to fund development projects and for approved research projects under the Intensification of Research in Priority Areas (IRPA) programme.

Latest development called EDA for Effect Directed Analysis gives an exclusive feature to detect directly any activity of a given separated compound on the plate, as for example in lipids any radical scavenging, antibody-antigenic reaction, or endocrine disruptive activity. The break-through is to search a compound in a straight forward way and then identify it, a very smart, unexpensive, and quick way, when other methods must first isolate it and then check every compound for any expected result. In complex lipids, and heavy matrix, the separation must be achieved with the AMD method, developed and patented by Bayer for water micro-pollutant (down to ppt range). This "gradient" is actually an Automated Multiple Development multiplies by a factor of 4 the separation power of a plate and by 10 the sensitivity.
