Congress Dinner, Tuesday 18 September 2007

The congress dinner will take place Tuesday, 18 September at the old "Börsen", the city hall (No 6 in blue square on the map). It is a 15 min walk from the congress center/ hotel.

Börsen was built between 1844 and 1849 as a commodity exchange and meeting-place for the merchants as well as banqueting rooms for the town authorities. As early as in the 1770s plans were made to build a new independent assembly hall and the idea of combining exchange and festivity interests stemmed from the long joint use of the old Town hall. The importance as an exchange, however, soon diminished and the house was rebuilt in the early 1900s to serve as a modern town hall for the fast growing Gothenburg. The building is frequently used for representation purposes and members of the City Council meet here.
The dinner is catered by Sjömagasinet and its chef Leif Mannerström.

Guest Tours

Sunday 16 September: City Tour
A guided bus tour will take delegates around the famous both old and new sites of Göteborg, such as Masthuggs Church from where you have a great view over the city and the Göta River, Götaplatsen, Gustav Adolf squarewith the City Hall, the Opera House, Klippan with its amazing history and many others sites, old ones full of history and modern ones full of an interesting future. The tour includes coffee at one of Göteborgs famous cafés.
Duration: 13:00-15:00

Cost per delegate: 39 Euro
Minimum: 30 delegates


Monday 17 September: Marstrand Tour
 Tuesday 18 September: Manor Tour
Unfortunately these guest tours will not take place since the minimum number of participants could not be achieved. We will try to offer an alternative programme instead. Paid fees will be reimbursed. We apologise for the inconvenience.


Terms and Conditions for Guest and Social Programme:
Please collect your tickets at the registration desk. All tours will be accompanied by an English-speaking Tour Guide.
The number of places for all events is limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Cancellations are non-refundable unless the tickets can be re-sold. A minimum number of participants is required on each tour, should the minimum number not be met, the organizer may cancel the tour and inform of its decision within ample time. Purchased tickets will be refunded. Further recourse is excluded.
